Our Story

We’re a group of ordinary people with an extraordinary passion—to reach the overlooked, the hurting, and the hungry with the love of Jesus. After years of serving in a traditional church setting, we began to feel a growing burden: What about the ones outside the four walls?

At our former church, we found ourselves limited in our ability to do meaningful outreach—the very thing God had placed in our hearts. After much prayer and seeking, we knew it was time to step out in faith and build something new.

That’s how The Least of These Outreach Ministries was born.

Rooted in prayer and driven by compassion, we are a Spirit-filled, non-denominational ministry with a mission to lead people to Jesus through prayer, outreach, and love—welcoming all, serving faithfully, and making disciples for His glory.

Our vision is simple yet powerful:

To be the hands and feet of Jesus, reaching the lost and transforming lives through prayer, supplication, outreach, and evangelism. We are committed to leading people into salvation and fostering a deep relationship with God. As a house of prayer for all people, we will create a place where every soul is welcomed, uplifted, and empowered to walk in faith, bringing the light of Christ to the world.

We believe in grace, not guilt—relationship, not religion. And we’re committed to creating a space where people from every background can encounter God, grow in faith, and discover their purpose.

At the heart of this ministry is the heart of Jesus—reaching out to the least, the last, and the lost. You belong in that story.

We are not just a church—we are a movement of mercy. Born out of Matthew 25:40, The Least of These Outreach Ministries exists to serve the forgotten, restore the broken, and ignite a generation with the love and power of Jesus Christ.

We are:

  • Spirit-filled: Empowered by the Holy Spirit to minister with truth, boldness, and grace.

  • Bible-centered: Grounded in the Word of God, without compromise.

  • Mission-driven: Focused on reaching the lost, uplifting the poor, and equipping believers for real-life ministry.

We believe the Church should:

  • Tear down walls, not build them.

  • Offer relationship over religion.

  • Be a hospital for the hurting, not a museum for the self-righteous.

Whether you’re exploring faith for the first time or returning with questions and scars, there’s a place for you here.

“Whatever you did for one of the least of these… you did for Me.” — Matthew 25:40

Sr. Church Administrator

Deaconess Markita Washington

Deaconess Markita Washington serves as the Church Secretary and Senior Administrator at The Least of These Outreach Ministries. A woman of deep faith and quiet strength, she is a true pillar in both spiritual and administrative leadership.

Markita's journey with God began in childhood, when she and her sister were faithfully brought to church by the late Deacon Samuel Jones. Even then, she felt drawn to the presence of God—so much so that she would play church and longed for a prayer cloth of her own. In time, that childlike hunger became a genuine encounter: she felt the move of God for herself and received the Holy Spirit.

Raised by her grandparents, the late Sarah “Ann” Woods and her grandfather, after experiencing family instability and the heartbreak of her parents’ addictions, Markita learned early the values of resilience, hard work, and keeping God first—no matter the struggle. Her testimony includes the pain of teenage pregnancy and miscarriage, the joy of motherhood, and the restoration of a life once headed for destruction. It was during a low season that she met her now-husband, Assistant Pastor CJ Washington. She had prayed for a man who would love both her and her son Micah—and who would thirst after God. Their love story led them to walk out their faith together, marrying quickly and serving faithfully at Excellent Way Ministry Outreach.

At Excellent Way, Markita grew in both ministry and leadership—serving as Head Usher, Assistant Hospitality Ministry Leader, Assistant Secretary, and ultimately being appointed Deaconess in September 2023. Spiritually, she is known as a prayer warrior and atmosphere shifter, with a teaching style that brings clarity and connection to all who hear her. She also has a powerful gift for encouraging people to stay rooted in Christ—often drawing from her own life experiences.

Markita is known for her honesty and authenticity—what you see is what you get. She speaks the truth in love, with a boldness that comes from a sincere heart. While her straightforward nature may sometimes be misunderstood, those who know her best will tell you she’s one of the most compassionate and giving people you’ll ever meet. She would give the shirt off her back without hesitation and has welcomed many into her home in times of need. Her greatest joy is encouraging others to stay anchored in Christ, even in life’s hardest seasons.

Markita and CJ endured an eight-year journey of infertility, which God used to reveal deeper emotional and spiritual healing. After choosing to forgive her mother, she experienced breakthrough—and in 2020 welcomed their son Allen, followed by their daughter Grey two years later.

A lifelong learner, Markita is largely self-taught in her administrative role and excels through discipline, vision, and service. She enjoys traveling, hosting loved ones, engaging in deep conversations, and studying the Word. Her heart and home are always open.

Favorite scripture: Matthew 6:26
"Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?"

Head Deacon and Chief Financial Officer

Deacon Anthony Adams Sr.

Deacon Anthony R. Adams Sr. brings a legacy of faithful service, integrity, and selfless leadership to his role as Head Deacon and CFO of The Least of These Outreach Ministries. His spiritual journey began in 1986 while stationed in Germany, where he was born again and received the gift of the Holy Ghost. From that point forward, his life became a testimony of God’s sustaining power, even through the perils of war and the trials of life.

During his military service, Deacon Adams continued to grow in his calling, serving as a Junior Deacon at New Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church in Fort Bragg under the mentorship of Deacon James Womack. There, he found joy and purpose mentoring young men, helping to shape the next generation in the fear and wisdom of the Lord.

After his military service, Deacon Adams served faithfully under the mentorship of Elder Amos Burgess at Greater Zion Apostolic Holiness Church in Baltimore, Maryland. As President of the Trustee Board, he was entrusted with the day-to-day operations of the church, safeguarding its financial integrity and ensuring compliance with 501(c)(3) standards. He regularly interfaced with city officials and financial institutions to uphold the church’s good standing.

In addition to his administrative and financial responsibilities, Deacon Adams has always been hands-on in ministry—facilitating Bible studies, teaching Sunday school, visiting the sick and shut-in, and even cutting the hair of senior members as a quiet act of love.

Deacon Adams affectionately serves alongside his wife, Kimberly Adams, whom he lovingly refers to as his “rib.” Their love story began in the most unexpected of places—a 7-Eleven. Struck by her boldness and beauty, he couldn't resist asking for her number, and they’ve been inseparable ever since. Together, they embody a partnership built on love, laughter, and a shared commitment to serving God’s people.

His testimony includes the Lord's protection during the First Gulf War, where he led soldiers safely through danger and saw every one of them return home. That experience left a deep impression on his soul, instilling in him a lifelong conviction: to live selflessly and serve others not just because of God’s promises, but because it reflects God's heart.

As Head Deacon, Deacon Adams remains committed to inspiring others and serving wherever the Lord leads—with an open heart, a willing spirit, and a steadfast devotion to the work of the Kingdom.
